We’re partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy delivering a strong pipeline of land development, infrastructure, stormwater and flood management projects across Southeast Queensland.

They are seeking a Senior Water Engineer who can lead projects from concept through to certification while mentoring junior engineers and building strong client relationships along the way.

This is not a role for someone who only wants to sit behind a model all day.

This is for someone who enjoys technical delivery, commercial responsibility, stakeholder engagement and leading outcomes.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of stormwater, flood and civil infrastructure projects across both public and private sector clients.

The role will see you involved across:

• Stormwater management plans
• Flood modelling and hydraulic assessments
• Drainage design
• WSUD solutions
• Fee proposals and project scoping
• Project delivery and certification
• Client and authority engagement
• Mentoring junior engineers

You’ll have the autonomy to manage projects end-to-end while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in speaking with engineers who bring:

• Approximately 8+ years’ experience in water, civil or environmental engineering
• Strong stormwater and flood modelling capability
• Experience delivering land development and/or infrastructure projects
• Commercial understanding around fees, budgets, scopes and variations
• The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
• A collaborative leadership style with genuine interest in mentoring junior staff

Technical Experience

Experience across some or all of the following will be highly regarded:

• TUFLOW
• XP-SWMM
• MUSIC
• Stormwater Management Plans
• Hydraulic impact assessments
• Flood reporting
• Drainage design
• WSUD
• Erosion and sediment control

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering
• RPEQ (required)
• CPEng and/or CPESC highly regarded
