Civil Engineer – Generalist (Water Experience)

Location: Darwin

Work Arrangement: 9-day fortnight (private sector)

Salary: Competitive package + benefits

Build critical infrastructure in the Top End

This is a Darwin-based opportunity to join a highly regarded private consultancy delivering meaningful civil and water infrastructure projects across the Northern Territory.

You’ll work as a generalist Civil Engineer with solid water experience, contributing across the full project lifecycle. The role offers variety, autonomy, and balance—without the rigidity often found elsewhere. A genuine 9-day fortnight supports sustainable performance while you work on projects that matter to local communities.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Design and delivery support across civil and water infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater assets.
  • Contributions across feasibility, concept, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Civil design for pipelines, drainage, earthworks, roads, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated, practical outcomes.
  • Technical input to reports, drawings, specifications, and client communications.
  • Support to project managers to deliver on time, on budget, and to standard.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (essential).
  • 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering with demonstrable water infrastructure exposure.
  • Experience working across water, wastewater, and broader civil scopes in consulting or contractor environments.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards, design codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Experience in the NT market is advantageous, but not essential.

Why This Role

You’ll join a respected consultancy that values flexibility, trust, and technical quality. The 9-day fortnight is real, the work is varied, and the leadership team understands that sustainable careers deliver better outcomes—for people and projects alike.
