Senior Electrical Engineer
Water & Wastewater | LV Electrical Design | Controls & Automation | QLD & NSW Projects
Brisbane, QLD
This is not a generic building services electrical role.
It sits much closer to the process, equipment and control systems, where electrical distribution, MCCs, instrumentation, PLCs and SCADA ultimately have to work together on operational infrastructure.
We’re partnering with our client, a specialist electrical and automation engineering business delivering projects across metropolitan and regional Queensland and New South Wales.
They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong industrial LV design capability and, ideally, enough control systems exposure to comfortably work across the interface between electrical engineering and automation.
The Opportunity
Your primary focus will be electrical engineering and design across water, wastewater and other industrial infrastructure.
You will be involved across:
The electrical workload remains the core of the position, but exposure to automation is a significant advantage.
Depending on project demand, you may also support work involving PLCs, SCADA, RTUs, HMI, telemetry and associated control systems.
What We’re Looking For
Water experience matters.
We’re particularly interested in Senior Electrical Engineers who have worked around operational water and wastewater assets rather than purely commercial or building services environments.
You will need to bring:
Controls & Automation Exposure
You do not need to be a Principal Automation Engineer.
However, engineers who understand how the electrical design interfaces with:
will be particularly well suited.
Experience working with South East Queensland water infrastructure and its associated control environments will be highly regarded.

Why This Role Stands Out
The attraction here is the breadth.
You can remain a strong electrical engineer while developing deeper exposure to automation and control systems rather than being pushed into an increasingly narrow design discipline.
Projects span major metropolitan assets, regional councils and industrial water infrastructure across Queensland and New South Wales, with opportunities to follow work from design into implementation and commissioning.
If you are an electrical engineer who enjoys understanding how the entire system works, rather than stopping at the edge of the electrical drawing set, this could be worth a confidential discussion.
