Mechanical Lead Engineer

Mechanical Engineering | Industrial Infrastructure | Technical Leadership | Capability Development

Gold Coast preferred, with Brisbane under consideration

Full-time | Indicative base salary: $165,000–$195,000

Planned opportunity: Q1/Q2 2027, with final timing and location to be confirmed

You’ve developed the technical judgement to lead complex mechanical engineering work.

Your next move could put that experience at the centre of a developing mechanical capability, where your contribution helps shape how projects are approached and delivered.

Our client is planning a Mechanical Lead Engineer appointment to support its industrial and infrastructure work. This is an opportunity to explore a senior technical role ahead of the anticipated recruitment period in the first half of 2027.

The Opportunity

You’ll provide senior mechanical engineering leadership and contribute to the development of our client’s mechanical capability.

The role’s core focus will include:

  • Providing technical direction across mechanical engineering work.
  • Supporting mechanical solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Applying relevant expertise across mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Contributing to the development of the organisation’s mechanical engineering capability.

Our client is an electrical and mechanical contractor whose services include work involving pumps, motors and industrial installations.

What We’re Looking For

You’re an experienced mechanical engineer who can bring practical technical leadership to project delivery.

You’ll bring:

  • Senior mechanical engineering experience and the capability to lead technical work.
  • Relevant experience within industrial infrastructure.
  • Technical capability across mechanical systems, with experience relevant to pumping, pipework, rotating equipment or process infrastructure.
  • The ability to contribute to a developing engineering capability.

Highly Regarded

  • Water and wastewater project experience.
  • Current RPEQ registration.

Why This Role Stands Out

This opportunity combines senior technical responsibility with the chance to contribute to the development of a mechanical engineering capability.

Your experience would support both project outcomes and the way our client approaches mechanical engineering work.

The Gold Coast is the preferred location, with Brisbane arrangements still under consideration. The anticipated commencement is Q1/Q2 2027, subject to final workforce planning.

If you’re looking for a role where your mechanical expertise can help shape capability as well as delivery, this could be worth an early discussion.
